My favorite family tradition has to be heart shaped meatloaf on Valentine's Day! I did this when my girls were little and the best part was when they grew up, they make this for their spouses and family! Heart shaped meatloaf...as Owen would say...it makes my heart happy! Love mom

Hmmm...I think that I'd have to say that so far the only tradition is to make the Birthday boy/girl their favorite meal on their special day. We could use a new tradition...looking forward to hearing what others do and maybe that would spark something:) Congrats on your blog hits & I'm so happy you are finally able to subscribe and you are coming right to my inbox;)

Lets see we dont have too many, but one is that the birthday boy and now girl get a balloon tied to their chair for their birthday, and I didnt last year but typically I get or make them a shirt that says they are the birthday person.

We always take at least 1 family vacation a year b/c it allows us to bond outside of the home. We are trying to set up a tradition with some friends as well (hint hint).

I'm anxious to see all the answers on this as well! We both have some traditions we grew up with, but want to start some that are new!

One tradition in Aaron's family is to 'butter' the nose of the birthday person after eating cake/ice cream (so they will 'slide' through the next year). The first time I saw this I thought it was quite silly...but the little kids have so much fun chasing the birthday person down with butter for their nose, that it has become a lot of fun - for adults and children :)

The Hays Family tradition of Sunday night dinner of popcorn, apples and cheese was started when our oldest child was old enough to eat popcorn...and have continued it through the years. Sunday nights are reserved for our family...no phones, computer or activities. There are times when we have had to make adjustments (Confirmation class meets from 6:30-7:45 this year) but it is something we all look forward to. Sometimes we watch a TV show....Amazing Race....or sometimes we watch a movie. We wind down, relax and get ready for the week AS A FAMILY. Oh and when my kids were younger (now 18, 14,14) it was the only soda pop that they had for the week! It was a treat! Whatever you do...make it yours and enjoy each other! They grow up too fast!
